ICE

Ok, I know that is kind of a strange title, but that is what has been on my mind for the past 2 days. The Jail is getting an assessment and inspection from ICE (Immigration) and some of the upper brass came to me and asked if I could create a new Jail Orientation Video... in one day. Many months ago I had started the project and had several photos and some video, but I hadn't taken it any further than having several photos and 40 min of quickly shot video.

For a full 13 hours I worked on this video yesterday. 10:30 AM till just before mid-night. I left work with 53 of the 80 paragraphs synchronized to video, and fortunately for me I was able to make an English version onto a DVD today by 1:00 PM.

The inspectors said that as long as I have the Spanish script recorded and only need to sync the audio to an existing video that should be good enough. So now I have some time to get the Spanish version out also. Crazy amounts of work, but that means that I have several hours that I can take on Monday the 14th. I love long weekends.

Construction everywhere...

OK, so I know that there is construction on nearly every road I travel on every day, and as I've driven around to many other areas that I don't usually travel to, all I see are orange cones and barrels there too. Now, the ultimate in construction intrusion, they are tearing apart my office. I finally get out of my cave like cubicle and get some sunlight? So much for my vampire metamorphosis...

Well, this update is being sent out via my phone. I'm not sure what the result will be, but all blogs are getting it. Crazy what technology can do these days. - Still no baby, but we are going in for a non stress and an ultrasound today. I'll keep yall posted. Here are some phone photos for fun.

Just Jelise

Wow. Today was quite the day. After struggling with a rather strange and somewhat complex SQL statement I was able to push out a version of an inventory management program that works with the Altiris programs but will allow us to input some of our numbers much easier and make reporting much faster and easier also. I was able to get some jail produce and make my way home. Miurvy's friend has 'moved in' with us as of yesterday evening and it should be a very good help to Miurvy in preparing her for delivering the baby. Speaking of which we had a little fluid loss scare and ended up going to the hospital with contractions but no pain and no real progression to giving birth, so we were sent home. People have always said that one more is always a LOT more, and one less is always a LOT less, but I think that Miurvy and I are so excited to have a little girl to spoil and go all princessy on that we aren't really thinking about that. I know that I am Na seriously, I am excited for a girl. I have very little idea about what she will be like or anything, but the change in expectations and total change in potential futures is very enthralling to consider. For now, I'm content to lay on my bed, using my neighbor's internet and update blogs that are nearly 8 months stale. I've always been a terrible journal writer and blogging is no different.
